Inspiring Young Women Leaders: 1st Amendment 1st Vote

1st Amendment 1st Vote Inspiring Young Women Leaders

Listen To Girls!

I spent the day with girls involved in the 1st Amendment 1stVote (1stA1stV) program.  Melina Carnicelli, Auburn’s FIRST and Only woman Mayor since the founding of the City in 1793, is the Founder of 1stA1stV.
1st Amendment 1st Vote is a non-partisan, civics opportunity for high school teens who identify as girls to engage in the democratic process and to imagine themselves in elected office or professional government-related jobs.
Programming rolls out as a series of regional seminars and culminates in a conference bringing all participants together from across the state.
Today’s forum consisted of Bold, Brave, BRILLIANT, and Beautifully Spirited emerging women leaders from:
  • Baker High School
  • Corcoran High School
  • Henninger High School
  • Nottingham High School
One thing I know for sure the future of women’s political leadership is in good hands with these young women.
I love networking with these emerging women leaders. Sharing civic leadership lessons with 1stA1stV participants aligns with my legacy building strategy focused on paving the way for future generations of women leaders.
Today was a good day!
