Go Red for Women

Gwen at Go Red 2016We Go Red for Women year round! I attended Syracuse American Heart Association Circle of Red and Men Go Red event at the Stickley Furniture Showroom. The event was hosted by one of my favorite entrepreneurs and philanthropist Mrs. Aminy Audi. We gathered to celebrate the impact our collective giving has on heart disease and for our annual photoshoot.

Thanks to my dear friend Evelyn Camille Hoskins Carter for chairing the Circle of Red campaign. Your leadership of this effort raises hundreds of thousands to save our sister’s lives.

She is a proud member of the Circle of Red, a group of women who donate $1000.00 to the American Heart Association for research, equipment and support for women dealing with heart disease. Gwen became involved in 2004 following the death of her younger sister Terri Webber-Simmons who died at 45 from cardiac arrest. The event raised over $300,000 for this cause.

Over 600 women and men attended the event to take a stand to reduce the fact that heart disease is the number one killer of American women.
